EDUCE Patterns Overview
Some of the EDUCE language patterns focus on business value, vision, and mission, while other patterns focus on conceptual models. The core EDUCE patterns focus on meaning preserving statement simplification and the organization of an emergent Domain Vocabulary. The following table provides quick links to each of these patterns.

| Stable Concept | a domain concept revealed through its relationships | |
| Policy Statement | a business context, a quality concern, and end(s) to be achieved | |
| Goal Statement | a business goal and metrics to measure and detect success | |
| Quality Description | a quality concern, its stakeholders, and metrics | |
| Quantity Description | a measurement, its context, source, and instrumentation | |
| Problem Description | a business problem to be solved (and its problem frames) | |
| Usage Description | describes users and their interests, activities, and objectives | |
| Nuclear Sentence | a simplified sentence with a standard (normal) format | |
| Isolated Subject | a separate sentence for each subject | |
| Isolated Verb | a separate clause for each verb | |
| Complete Predicate | a transitive verb with all its related objects (actants) | |
| Limiting Adjective | indicates the cardinality of a relationship or event | |
| Descriptive Adjective | a named condition, state, constraint, or result | |
| Possession Discovery | a possessive verb discovered from genitive replacement | |
| Clause Summary | a summary name derived from an entire clause | |
| Condition Description | a summary name derived from a comparative clause | |
| Joined Clauses | a pair of clauses that only make sense together | |
| Normal Form | a standard simple grammar for sentences and clauses | |
| Normal Person | a third person subject | |
| Normal Number | a singular subject and corresponding verb | |
| Normal Voice | a verb with active voice | |
| Normal Tense | a verb with present tense (if an action, past if a condition) | |
| Normal Mood | a verb with indicative (or potential) mood | |
| Normal Polarity | a verb with affirmative polarity | |
| Normal Pronoun | an indefinite pronoun for a member of a collection | |
| Normal Article | an indefinite article (unless a true singleton) |
