represents some official (or sometimes unofficial) Viewpoint(s).

Discussion

Viewpoints tend to have perspectives and their attendant limitations (all perspectives are inherently subjective). Requirements engineers need to collect the opinions of many representative sources, and then assimilate them into the requirements for a software solution. Thus, opinions represented by viewpoints need to be gathered, reconciled, integrated, scheduled, deferred, or (frankly) ignored (as often are those received from unofficial sources).

So, requirements engineers need discriminitive intelligence, in order to (be able to) determine whether any given source represents an official or unofficial viewpoint for solution requirements, and consequently determine the relative merit(s) of the opinions expressed by those sources, account for how (or whether) they contribute to the requirements collected, and where (and whether) they fit in a given software solution.
